sharing our dreams with the world,

Blacks Can by Zahnius

They say we can't;
I say we can.

We can read;
we can write.
I know we can.
I have sight;
I see it.

I know one thing.
I'm black, too.
I can read and write.
If I couldn't,
would I write this?

Is there something wrong with us?
No, it's just a broken system,
not us.
We're smart,
and I say:

We can.
Blacks can.
We all can.
I can!

I'm gonna tell you how we can.
Because Jackie Robinson did it,
and Muhammad Ali did it.
So I say
we all can!
